Darwin Fridge Festival - Prize-winners

The Darwin Fridge Festival 2011 closes its fridge door on a successful and inspiring three weeks. The festival brought together artists, community groups, schools and inspired individuals all in the name of art and the humble fridge.

There were over 80 entries all up, with the winners in each category as follows:

Best Esky of the Festival - James Mason Nasir
Best Fridge poem - Andrea Mackay
Best Primary School fridge - Nightcliff Primary School
Best Secondary School fridge - Anna Wilkins (O’Loughlin College), Blooming fridge
Best Contribution by a Teacher - Dawn Beasley (O’Loughlin College)
Best Festival Fridge - Peter Dowling of CDU for his Fridge Car in 2010 and the Fridge Aeroplane in 2011.

A community arts festival is only as big as the people that support it and the Darwin Fridge Festival is particularly grateful to this year have the support of Arts NT, the NT Airports and the Darwin Waterfront Precinct.
